This book will be published in March 2002. You may pre-order it now and it will be shipped when available. Not much information is to be had about the author, as he has not published anything before, but this is a site he has setup about the book.. Do we recommend it? Who knows.. for now it looks like a compilation of lots of Rush info based on web sites.. we'll just have to wait until it comes out to rate this one.
The Prices have done a wonderful job interpreting the philosophy of Neil Peart's Lyrics and how it applies to human psychology. While their interpretation is not always consistent with my own, I do think this book is well worth reading.
In this wonderfully narrated book, Neil describes his bicycle journey through Western Africa. Very well written and well worth reading, once again Neil proved to us his writing and interpretive skills.
Back cover:
"Cycling is a good way to travel anywhere, but especially in Africa. You are independent and mobile, and yet travel at people speed--fast enough to travel on to another town in the cooler morning hours, but slow enough to meet people: the old farmer at the roadside who raises his hand and says, 'You are welcome,' the tireless women who offer a smile to a passing cyclist, the children whose laughter transcends the humblest home."
Includes: Distant Early Warning from GRACE UNDER PRESSURE * Jacob's Ladder from PERMANENT WAVES * Limelight from MOVING PICTURES and others.
The word-of-mouth is that this second book is better than the first one.
The Analog Kid * A Farewell to Kings * Manhattan Project * Marathon * Red Sector A * Vital Signs * 2112: I. Overture, II. The Temples of Syrinx, IV. Presentation, V. Oracle: The Dream, VI. Soliloquy, VII. Grand Finale.
I have this disc, and personally I don't think it's worth getting.. it's not a bad interview but sound quality is appalling and it's mostly just Geddy. Misleading cover picture as well, this interview is from 1994, not the 70s.

Rush, Baktabak Interview (1998)

Same as above, but this time Alex not Geddy and from 1998. I believe this disc is currently out of print.
|
Geddy's first solo effort. Some love it, some hate it, personally I think it's a terrific album and Geddy's voice never sounded better!.
Terrific live album set from the Test For Echo tour. A must have for any Rush fan.
Features Rush's biggest hits from years 1981-1987 in remastered versions.
Features Rush's biggest hits from years 1974-1980 in remastered versions.
Newest studio album from my favorite threesome. If you don't listen too closely to some of the lyrics (net boy, net girl? come-on Neil! I know You can do better!) it's even better.

Rush - 1993

Some have said that with this album Rush returned to the basics, ie Rush-style progressive rock.. it is what they do best after all.
This album, while still has synthesizers and the softer feel of 80s Rush, is probably Rush's hardest album in a long time. One of my favorite songs of all time, Dreamline, is on this one.

Rush - 1989
|
Presto is one of my most favorite albums of all time.
Another great live album, maybe not quite as great as the other ones however.
Masterful lyrics and beautiful, haunting melodies. It's not your traditional Rush, you'll either love or hate this one.
