I used to administrate a major IRC server that supported over 900 clients every night, and I am a well-liked regular on dozens of channels, so I am no stranger to IRC or IRC etiquitte either. I've visited #p/g! many times in hopes of joining in on the conversation (yes, I know they don't always talk about rush... I wasn't trying to talk about rush with them...) and was completely ignored by everyone in the channel. The only one who ever even said hi to me was another 'new' person who had joined the channel (who was, consequently, also being given the silent treatment.) I've spoken with many others who experienced similar rudeness by the people on #p/g!. I have no problem with it if the people there want to keep their channel to themselves, but they shouldn't call themselves the official rush irc channel in that case. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Barry J. IRC I just wanted to comment on... >On EFnet, #p/g! is not a rush channel, it is the channel for an obnoxious >clique who does their best to make everyone else feel very unwelcome. Rush-mgr mentioned that this is a matter of opinion. It may be more a matter of what time you go there. I have been on the channel SEVERAL times, and it was horrible. I only tried to engage in regular "Hello there" type of conversation. I was called a "Bitch", was kicked off several times right when I entered, before even having a chance to say hello, etc. There are some very immature people who have bots going on that channel, and they kick anyone off, or are mean to people who are not in their "clique." Very sophomorish stuff. I suggest channels YYZ and 2112. There are normally VERY cool Rush fans to talk to on those channels. Everyone gets ops on YYZ. It's a real family feeling and it's great. Too bad about p/g! and the children who are usually occupying it. Serious post from Ruth? Wassup wit dat? Always the loving, told the p/g! people I loved them and got kicked off, Rush fan(atic) -Ruth
