The city of Pittsburgh endured yet another p/g! gathering in October of
1994. The reason? We wanted to, dammit! Several of us, who decided we didn't have too much
to do one weekend, decided to head to Pittsburgh (at the invitation of John Santore
[Slythex]). The gathering commenced a Friday nite in October (either the 15th or the 21st)
and continued to the following Sunday. The guilty participants were:
- Brangwen (Amy Jarvis)
- Dirk (Jeff Berliner)
- karenj (Karen Jones)
- Letterman (Glen Reed)
- Madrigal (Leesa Smith)
- Snow-Dog (Jamie Buckley)
- tvos (Dave Wariner)
- Special phone call appearances by:
- Rrang (Steve Cogswell)
- AnalogKid (Tom Lloyd)
- Jvi (Mike Weintraub)
What do you do in Pittsburgh when there is no Rush concert as a reason for gathering?
Eat, commence shower-taking lines, eat, go hit the Record-Rama, eat, go see Pulp
Fiction (damn John, you laughed so hard I thought you were giving birth), eat, try to
stay awake thru Fletch, sleep, wake, eat ... well, you get the idea.
We have a small collection of photographs available to commemorate the event, or finger
the guilty.. whichever seems more appropriate. Pictures provided so far are taken by Glen
Reed (Letterman) and Amy Jarvis (Brangwen; special credit to Steve Cogswell [Rrang] who
sent me his copies of Amy's pics to scan). I know there are more pics out there
... Karen? Leesa?
And now ... on to the pictures!
Letterman's pictures

on John's floor
Adventures of MooseMan ... its Jeff Berliner (a.k.a Dirk)
Let Madame Leesa read your future. Lees thought we
should play poker with Tarot cards.. but we wouldn't be sure exactly how to handle the
betting... "HA! I got Death!... oh..."
Gee Dave, don't look so thrilled! Personally, I think
Dave is a little distressed John isn't giving him any lovin' on the couch.
.. but John soon made up for neglecting his close friend.
I, of course, was quite shocked....
Jeff and John.. two with attitude. How would you like to
discuss anything with these two?
Karen and her only friend. Well, until John did
unspeakable things ... with the squirrel.
Live Long and Prosper.Leesa gives the Vulcan Salute
beside the faintly visible Starfleet Academy decal, barely visible in the window. Trust
me, it's there...
Group portrait before we left. Taken right before we
left PGH for home.
Brangwen's Pictures
- Another of Amy (Brang) and Jamie (SnowDog) on the floor.
Does the floor hold secrets we don't know about?
- Meet the Babes of p/g!. From left to right; karenj,
Brangwen, and Madrigal. Hard to believe so much PMS potential can fit on a single couch.
- Another picture of the CouchBabes. Girlies so nice
we took pictures twice.
- John Santore, the host, gives the traditional greeting.
Ah, such a warm and welcoming sign! Just what I travelled 3 hours for! Surrounded by Jeff
and Karen.
- WOAH! Looks like some of us were more bored than
others! Hmm, I didn't think John expected such a response to his greeting (It's a JOKE
people! Sheesh!).
- Jamie once again on the floor. A-HA! He was glued
there ... so that was the problem!
- Jeff and John converse on the plight of moose
everywhere, and what can be done to Stop the Insanity!
- Karen has John all tied up. What happens when you
verbally wonder what you might look like if you had a braid. Luckily, no one took pictures
of later when they applied makeup and put him in a dress.
- So that was why he was sitting so still! Actually,
it's kinda hard to tell which is getting the short end of the stick in this one... I think
Amy is jealous of John. I think Dave is jealous of the squirrel.
- Time to haul away the trash. From left to right:
Jeff, Glen Reed (Letterman; oddly absent in most of these pictures.. a plot?), Leesa, Amy,
Dave, Karen, and John wielding the infmamous Shovel of Hickness.
- Another picture in the truck. Stupidity so nice I
took a picture ... oh, I did that one already. A clone 'cause I was shooting straight into
the sun ... this one didn't really turn out good, either... *sigh*
- So what the hell are they doing in this picture?
There appears to be a small difference of opinion on this one. Some say we were
re-enacting Washing crossing the Delaware, others say we were recreating the Iwo Jima
photo from World War II and lifting the mighty shovel aloft. Who cares.. it's my
truck... ;)
- A cheap waste-film shot of the most beautiful truck in
the world (okay, so maybe I'm biased.. sue me). Just another shot of the truck for a
laugh.. but since it was MY truck... at this point, we were all preparing to leave on
Sunday afternoon.
- Dave loves my shovel a little more than I would like.
The Disgusting Duo taking yet another innocent handtool and perverting it for their own
nauseating pleasures. In fact, these two seem to do this quite frequently.. perhaps some
hidden desire? (IT'S A JOKE, PEOPLE. CRIPES.)
- See no geekettes, hear no geekettes... Amy, Leesa, and
Karen before we were leaving.
- Yeah, screw with us.. we dare ya... The guys try to
imitate John's "Fuck You" disposition.. from left to right; Jeff, Dave, Glen
(wow, actually got Glen in more than one picture!), John.
- Yikes! It's Black Mustang Sally! Amy's car. Why is this
here? I dunno, but I figure since she let me take pics of my truck, I owe her. Learn to
use them brakes yet, Amy? ;)
Bonus Pictures
Dunno where or when these were taken, but since they were included with these I just
went ahead and scanned them in. So without further ado...
We want submissions!
If you have pics to contribute from this gathering, let me
know. I'll do my best to add them here. |
